Landlords can ensure they receive critical information during the Rent Board’s transition to a new data system in late 2027 by verifying an up-to-date email address is on file.
Landlords: Update Your Email Address
The Berkeley Rent Board will be migrating to a new data system in late 2027. To prepare for the transition, we are urging Berkeley landlords and property managers to make sure the email address and other contact information associated with their Rent Board account are up to date.
You can update your email address in one of two ways
Option 1: Use your Rent Registry account.
Log in to your Rent Registry account and update your contact information.
Option 2: Complete our online form.
Use the Rent Board's online form to provide your current email address.
If you need assistance updating your information, contact the Rent Board Registration Unit at (510) 981-7368, option 2, or rentregistry@berkeleyca.gov.
A More Modern Rent Board
The new data system is part of the Rent Board’s broader effort to modernize its operations and improve the technology supporting services for Berkeley’s rental housing community. This update will roll out in late 2027 after the 2027-2028 registration fee cycle is completed.
The new system will provide a user-friendly platform designed to better support the agency’s regulatory, administrative, and supportive services work.
Beyond keeping their email address and other contact information current, landlords do not need to take any further action to transition to the new system at this time. The Rent Board will provide additional information as the transition progresses.
