Registration Fees for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26

FY 2025-26 Registration Fees 

At its March 20, 2025 Regular Meeting, the Rent Board set FY 2025-26 annual registration fees for fully covered and partially covered units: 

• Fully covered units: $344 per unit
• Partially covered units: $212  per unit

The fees above apply to all fully and partially covered units, including government-owned and -subsidized units brought under registration requirements by Measure BB.

Payment Deadline

Fees are due by Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Fees not received in our office or postmarked by July 1, 2025, are assessed a 100% penalty!

We expect paper bills to be mailed in May. If you do not receive a bill, contact us for help. Not receiving a paper bill does not change your obligation to pay registration fees on time. 

Making Payments

Owners have several payment options:

• Online: The Rent Registry portal is now open for FY 2025-26 payments. You can pay online via credit card or e-check.
• Mail: Payment by check only can be mailed to our office and must be postmarked by July 1, 2025 to be considered timely.
• In Person: Owners who wish to pay by check, cash, or credit card in person at the Rent Board office may do so Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 4:45 PM.
• Drop box: Owners can place payments in the Rent Board’s drop box, which is in our elevator lobby at 2000 Center Street, Suite 400 (4th floor). The drop box is accessible from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Please note that the Rent Board cannot take credit card payments by phone, and all checks must be fully filled out. 

The Rent Board did NOT authorize a pass-through for FY 25-26 Registration Fees. 

The Rent Board did NOT authorize a pass-through for the FY 25-26 registration fee. Landlords may adjust rents as otherwise permitted under the Rent Ordinance but cannot increase any tenant’s rent as a result of the FY 25-26 registration fee.
