Eviction Defense Center (EDC) - (510) 452-4541
EDC will be closed December 22, 2025 through December 26, 2025, reopening December 29, 2025 for emergency eviction assistance.
East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) - (510) 548-4040
EBCLC will be closed December 17, 2025 through January 2, 2026, reopening their housing line on January 5, 2026.

Take Care of Time Sensitive Business Before the Holiday Office Closure
The Rent Board Offices will be closed to the public beginning Monday, December 22, 2025, through Friday, January 2, 2026.
If you have time sensitive business that requires staff assistance and can’t be done online through the Rent Registry, please make an appointment, call, email, or visit our office before December 22. Appointments, and services by phone and in person will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Drop Box Available on Select Days
If you have forms or checks to drop off during our office closure, our drop box will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the following exceptions:
Wednesday, December 24 - CLOSES at 2 pm
Thursday, December 25 - CLOSED ALL DAY
Wednesday, December 31 - CLOSES at 1 pm
Thursday, January 1 - CLOSED ALL DAY
Eligible Landlords Can Take Advantage of the Measure BB Amnesty Period Through January 2, 2026
Owners of units newly required to register under Measure BB who pay their accounts in full by January 2, 2026, will receive a waiver of all penalties related to the prorated FY 2024-25 and annual FY 2025-26 registration fees.
